Let's make magic!
Consultation and initial design
We start by gathering your inspiration and desires for the project. We'll dive into your gem, metal, size, and color preferences. We'll talk budget and create the initial sketches. If you love it, we'll take a deposit before the final gem selection and design process.
Gem selection and final approval
Next, we'll create a final design for your approval. At this time we'll also start sourcing gems from our own selection and through vetted gem suppliers. Once we select the perfect gems together, production will begin.
Benchwork and delivery
With design and gems in hand, we head to the studio and start creating your personal piece. Wax carving, casting, fabrication, stone setting - whatever the project calls for. We'll keep you posted on the project with updates and photos. And finally, we deliver the wearable art of your dreams!

Yes! We love creating with a gem that has sentimental value to you. Depending on the type and condition of the gem, we'll determine if it's something we can worth with.
Our custom work can take between 6-10 weeks to produce, depending on the complexity of the piece and how busy we are. We'll agree on final timelines before taking a deposit and starting with production.
Our custom work retains the elements and essence of Svetlana Lazar jewelry, but with your own special twist. Sometimes that's involves modifying an existing design. Sometimes it means creating something completely different but with familiar motifs and textures. Let's discuss. If you want something completely different from our work (say, in the style of another jeweler) we'll likely refer you to another trusted designer to maintain artistic integrity.
After final design approval and delivery, custom designs are not returnable.
Custom project payment is broken into three parts: a small deposit before custom design, a non-refundable deposit for half of the total price prior to starting production, and a final payment prior to delivery. All payments can be made by check, ACH transfer, or credit card.
